Standard belts can be identified in 1967 by the plastic lift up female buckle. Deluxe belts are identified by the metal female buckle that are released by a center button. All xr7 models had deluxe belts in 67, deluxe was optional in the standard models. This is the very best we can offer. No cracks in the plastic holster, good color and no fraying on the webbing, good chrome on the male buckle and it may even have the date code tag still in place. This is a one year only, Cougar only part. I do not care what they told you down at the "Mustang Mega Barn", Cougar is different as it has mounting holes at the top and Mustang does not. The Mustang cover has no mounting holes at the top and resembles the 1970 cover. This nice used original part will have no broken tabs as seen on our grade 'B' version. This grade 'A' part will include two metal clip-on spacers as shown. 1970 is the only year 69-73 that Mustang and Cougar column covers interchange. You will need to paint this part to match your interior.

Used lower steering column knuckle for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. This unit is used in the 1970-73 tilt only column and can be the issue when you have a sloppy feeling tilt column. This steering wheel was used only on standard interior 68-69 Cougars and will not fit a 1967 or 1970 - 73. Most Cougars were equipped with decore or XR7 interiors which used a two spoke wheel with woodgrained rim in 1968 and an all together different three spoke Rim Blow wheel in 1969. If you have a deluxe woodgrained wheel in your 1968 decore or xr7 equipped Cougar this solid colored wheel will accept your existing horn ring and pad.
