This original Ford service replacement hood scoop is the same as a factory installed scoop except that it does not have the embossements for the hood grille used on the very first Ram Air Cougars (prior to September 1968) and it has extra mounting stud receptacles for use on multiple applications such as the Comet GT and the Mercury Cyclone. Used FoMoCo aluminum intake manifold for Ford FE engines. The single plane carburetor mounting bases, indicate that this was designed for Ford Thunderbird with 390 engines. Stepped bases were for Ford Galaxie. FoMoCo marked, with a 1D20 casting date i.e. April 20, 1961. There has been some repair done to the area of the water neck, and at least one of the threaded holes is buggered up. No linkage, carburetors, nor fuel logs included. Both deluxe and standard use the same retractor in 1968 - 1969 and left is the same design as right. Grade "A" retractors will show no fading or cracks on the holster / retractor cover, good chrome buckle and may even still have the date code tag sewn in place. Very hard to find 69 - 70 Shelby / 67 - 69 Cougar 4 speed shifter knob. Almost a year in development was spent to get as close as possible to original N.O.S. sample. These very rarely come up for sale used and when they do, they are expensive. Knob insert is made of metal just like original not brass.
