This mirror nut for the 70 - 73 Cougar or Mustang is made from stainless steel, as compared to the other reproduction we offer which is made from die cast metal. A few benefits of the stainless steel nut is that the finish on it will not tarnish over time, and that it cannot be cross threaded.

This fits behind the door panel and is needed to install your remote mirror correctly.*NOTE*1969 Cougar owners do not need this part as it is built in the the chromed plastic, rectangular bezel on the door panel.

Attractive reproduction of a very popular, over the counter Mercury dress-up accessory. The only Cougars that came from the factory with this real wood shifter were the 1970 Eliminator and 1968 XR7G. Mercury Cougar shift handles never came covered in real leather from the factory but what a cool upgrade! We sell a lot of these and the feedback has been great. This is an exact replacement for a 1970 remote sport mirror. Nearly indistinguishable from a 1968. Obviously a larger ball and longer than found on 1969, 1971-73 remote mirrors.
