Give your Cougar the added comfort of a extra 5/8" of Heavy padding under the carpeting and almost 30 lbs of Sound Deadening material. The mass backing gives your carpet the plush feel of the carpeting in a new luxury car while adding a great deal of sound deadener to muffle road noise. The mass backing combined with the foil heat shield (Part # 10330) should provide sound deadening equivalent to that of the factory sound deadener. Of the multiple carpets available out there these are the best. These are correctly molded to the contour of your floor pans and have the correct thickness of insulation bonded to the backside. They come with the correct heel pad sewn into the drivers side and have the correct hem in the appropriate places. Here is a great article you will want to read if you have never installed carpet yourself. *NOTE* 1969 - 70 Cougars did not originally come with a sewn in toe pad like the 1967 - 68 Cougars.
