All of our bumpers are sold on an exchange basis. We must receive a re-chromable core from you in exchange for our re-chromed bumper or we charge for us to be able to replace the bumper we send to you. This is so that our supply of bumpers is not depleted to the point that we have no more bumpers to offer.
Here is the description of core returns from our Terms of Service:
Core Refunds:
Core refunds are given when we deem the part worthy of being rebuilt. If you have questions on what a good core consists of please email a picture of the part prior to sending it or give us a call for guidelines. Often we can at least offer a partial refund on your core. If you choose to send your cores to us in advance or choose "Hold my order for the Cores", and your cores are not rebuild-able, you will be required to pay the core charge before we will ship your order.
Send Core Returns with a copy of your receipt to:

Core Return for (Your Order Number)
5377 Waconda Rd NE
Salem, OR 97305
So your options are:
1. We hold your order until we receive your bumper and inspect it to make sure that it is re-chromable, then we ship your order.
2. Pay the Core charge and we can ship your order right away. You can then send in your bumper at any point at which time we will inspect the bumper and determine if it is re-chromable, and if it is we will issue you a core refund.
We have become known for our high quality triple plated re-chromed Mercury Cougar bumpers. We hand select every order and take pride in our product! Keep in mind your purchase price is reduced greatly when you have extra cores to send in with your exchange bumper(s). We are most interested in buying extra core front bumpers but often will consider buying your reasonably priced, clean rear bumper cores as well. If your core is unusually nice and you want to insure you get a "virgin" bumper back, we ask that you send your core in advance of us sending out our bumper to you. We dub this service "Core Matching" and are happy to accommodate you at no extra charge. If you have any further questions please call us at 503-463-1130.
*NOTE* We do not plate, paint or prep the backside of these bumpers. They are unrestored on the back and after 40 years they all have some degree of surface rust. For those that want to go the extra mile you can sand the back by hand, tape the bumper off and coat or spray it with your favorite silver or argent product. If you do nothing that is fine also, you will not cause your bumper harm or void your warranty if you choose to do nothing. Also, if you are having difficulty aligning your bumpers you really need to check out this really cool tool! We have one for loan if you are in the area, it only takes seconds and is very easy to use.
