This will be a good starting point for those of you wanting to get your Mustang or Cougar tilt / tilt away column (aka tilt-pop / tilt-swing / tilt-swing away) working perfectly. Keep in mind there was no "tilt only" column offered in a Cougar, Mustang or Thunderbird in 1967-1969, they all had the tilt away feature embedded in the tilt column option. According to Kevin Marti there were 10,721 units installed in the 1967 Cougar and 12,503 units installed in the 1967 Mustangs. For 1968, the Cougars received 11,019 units, Mustang 10,196. In 1969 9,633 units were installed in the Cougar and 954 units installed in the Mustang.
