Rear Axle U-Bolts

We offer used U-Bolts as a favor to customers that may only need one or more U-bolts for re installation of their rear end suspension assemblies. These are from Western and South Western cars that have never seen road salt. These are very good used parts in every way. We don’t save damaged hardware, we inspect the threads for any galling. We also include the OEM Ford attaching nuts (2). Two U-Bolts per side, for a total of 4 U-Bolts needed for installation of all Cougar rear end suspension assemblies.

Generic auto part store U-Bolts are generally too long and need to be ‘cut to length’, and typically the threaded ends are too long. The measurements given on our used U-Bolts is an approximation for reference. Ford supplier parts often varied slightly in specifications. All 8 inch and 9 inch rear axle tubes are the same diameter and the U-Bolt spacing is 3-1/4” on center. Threads are all 7/16-20. The U-Bolt length measurement is from the center of the inside saddle to the end.
