The Wittek Company manufactured the tower clamps used on the Cougar from 1967 to 1973, the Mustang from 1964 1/2 to 1973, as well as many other Ford and Mercury cars during that period. In October or 1993, the company filed for bankruptcy. This has made the tower clamp unavailable to the classic car restorer. This threaded replacement wand will require you to cut 8/32" fine threads in your original controller. Your OEM mirror controller is made of a very soft metal so one can often install these as "self tapping".1967 and 1968 are different, see comparison picture. The 1968 version was rounded off due to new safety standards. The mirror nut tool will fit over the 1967 wand, but not the 1968.

1967 was the last year for the 3/8"-16 threads. We also carry the J bolt C6OZ-1448-A, and the top plate or disc C5ZZ-1424-A. Wing-nut, spinner. *NOTE* The original 67 wing nut had no protruding tabs in the recessed area as did most of the 1968 - 1973 wing nuts.
