This mirror nut for the 70 - 73 Cougar or Mustang is made from stainless steel, as compared to the other reproduction we offer which is made from die cast metal. A few benefits of the stainless steel nut is that the finish on it will not tarnish over time, and that it cannot be cross threaded.

Now you can replace this original part, which is commonly stripped out, with a nice reproduction. Nice unused space saver spare tire for a Ford. Vintage Good Year brand tire with size F78-14. BF Goodrich is another common brand of tire installed for use with unique storage location, hold down, and inflation bottle. This one does not appear to have been inflated or used on the road. This is an upgraded version from what you see in our video but the idea is the same. This is an exact replacement for a 1970 remote sport mirror. Nearly indistinguishable from a 1968. Obviously a larger ball and longer than found on 1969, 1971-73 remote mirrors. This threaded replacement wand will require you to cut 8/32" fine threads in your original controller.
