Mercury Cougar shift handles never came covered in real leather from the factory but what a cool upgrade! We sell a lot of these and the feedback has been great. We also carry the original plastic covered (simulated leather) reproduction XR7 shift handles in several colors but this real leather handle comes in black only.

Very hard to find 69 - 70 Shelby / 67 - 69 Cougar 4 speed shifter knob. Almost a year in development was spent to get as close as possible to original N.O.S. sample. These very rarely come up for sale used and when they do, they are expensive. Knob insert is made of metal just like original not brass. This rod is unique to 1970 because it was the first year of the lock out rod. Very hard to come by when you consider there was no 390 option for 1970. Notice this rod features two different part numbers. Adjustable rod that connects the floor shifter to the big block C-6 automatic transmissions. C6 transmissions only, code "U" on your door data plate tag. 428 Cobra Jet engines were the only Cougar engines to receive the C-6 automatic transmission. Used Hurst built 4 speed manual shift control assembly for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang equipped with the manual transmission. This assembly includes the shifter mechanism, shift rods, and shift lever. The Ford MPC states that this same shifter was used on all V8 Mustangs and Cougars. Used automatic shifter bezel / indicator assembly for all Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with or without consoles. These are the best used ones from our inventory. D0ZZ-7210-B Chromed "Hurst" labeled shifter for all 1970 - 1971 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs with factory installed 4 speed transmissions. New internal speedometer gear fits 4 speed toploader transmissions. The largest number of 4 speed toploaders came stock with this gear. Replaces Ford Part #: C4DZ-17285-A.

This clips affixes the plastic speedometer gear to the cable. Some have found that this OEM original clip fits a little better than the reproduction we offer. *Trivia* Did you know the first Cougar cast for production in 1968 was this "Custom Cougar"? This fine example was offered up on ebay summer 2008 for a mere $6500.

This is a good used speedometer cable from a 1969 - 1970 Mercury Cougar with a FMX transmission. The cable housing has no burns and the fragile plastic squeeze clip that fastens it to the back of the speedometer is not broken. Keep in mind that some 1970 models use a two part cable. This cable will work in place of the two part cable seen on some 1970 cars. This cable measures 58 1/2" at its very most outer ends.
