We highly recommend restoring our rust free Western hinges over using reproduction hinges. The main reason the originals are better than the Taiwan made reproductions is fit. If there is anywhere in which you want a precision fit it is in the hinges. These hinges have not been worn to the point of being "hogged out" and have been carefully inspected for cracks. Used original door latch actuating rod for either the driver side (left hand) or the passenger side (right hand) of the Mercury Cougar. Attaches to the outside door handle and the door latch mechanism.Replaces Ford part number D1WY-6522152-A.

These are the screws that secure the door latch mechanism to the door shell. These screws come with the attached crown headed lock washer, just like the originals, so be sure to tighten them down snugly to ensure that the screw head sits flush into the screw holes. Inside door handle release mechanism for the passenger side on base model standard 1972-73 Cougar and Mustang. This latch mechanism went through a couple of revisions by the end of 1973. Ford calls this part a 'control and link assembly', this particular one only works with the base door handles as shown in the photo. Grade "A" doors have never been dented in, cracked in the door latch area or rusted in the corners under the weatherstrip. When you turn it over and inspect it, the bottom seam it is not expanding from the inside out due to rust. There are no drilled holes for an after market impact strip and the sound deadener is usually still intact. Often times it will still bear the original paint but do expect multiple, small door dings. Door striker replacement bushing.   .90 tall, .69 OD. .49ID. .10 thickness. These plastic bushings were used starting in 1972. We also sell the whole striker assembly. Common striker to many Ford cars after 1971. Apparently Sikorski helicopters too.
