Reproduction Taillight Bezels for the 1970 Mercury Cougar | ||||||||

On this very first 1969 bezel we installed we found this last mounting hole did not line up with the factory hole in the backing plate. 
No worries! With a screw driver and minimal pressure the part was brought into alignment. 
On this bezel the part did not lay flush with the backing plate completely. 
To bring the repro bezel to the backing plate we had to use a longer screw then the one provided with the bezels. 
The bezel on the bottom is a used unit, the top two are reproduction. When we lay the used lens in the new bezel we found that it did not lay completely flush. When all three parts are mated everything lined up and this was not an issue. 
To get this nice of results with restored parts you would have to start with a $300-$400 pair of bezels and then spend several hundred dollars on them. The end result is that you have parts with rounded corners from the polishing process. These are very attractive in lieu of the costs and hassles associated with restoring used parts. 
As you site down the ribs you will see perfect alignment on the outside and inside of the bezel.
