This is an original chrome lock knob used on 1968 and up Fords with no peeling chrome or obvious scratches. If you compare the originals to the reproductions we have listed you will see a distinct difference. This is for the very particular restorer who really is concerned about detail, especially on prominent pieces like this. If you have a 67 the woodgrain decals are the correct size, the 68 uses a little different design with a black border which is not available new. The woodgrain is not correct for either 67 or 68. We would highly recommend getting our burl wood applique, it is still not correct, but is much closer and nicer than the woodgrain this comes with. These NOS sill plates always have some degree of shelf wear due to the many years they have been shuffled around. The biggest difference you will see with NOS vs. the two different levels of reproductions is the finish. The NOS parts are far less bright and less prone to showing hairline scratches. One other benefit is that NOS sill plates already have the FORD decal in place. Sold individually.

These interchange left to right, they are a mirror image of one another. We recently did a side by side comparison of these so called "concours" sill plates and found very little difference when comparing them to the "economy" version... They both weigh .52 pounds, just like our NOS sill plates. They both have a high of luster, unlike the originals which featured very little "shine". Very rare more common version of the XR7-G steering wheel gold plated emblem. Used end cap with the burl woodgrain for the deluxe door pull straps found in the Mercury Cougar XR7 or Ford Mustang. These units will show a degree of pitting, fine scratches and fading. This white plastic spacer fits into the back of the right hand inner knob on cars without factory fader or balance. If your inner knob is loose and will not align, you will want to see if this part is in place. Contrary to what you might think at first glance, the support rods used in 1967 - 1968 Cougar headliners are not the same front to back. Each of the rods is bowed to a different curve. To replace a headliner and make it look right, you must keep the rods in the same order as they came out of the original headliner. Pair of used wire anchors for keeping the rear most headliner bow stationary. These are fragile wires, and prone to rusting. We try to keep them in inventory. 1967-68 anchor wires are 5-9/16 inches long. A DIY person can improvise these pretty easy, using lengths of regular wire. Ford part # C4OB-6252180.
