Exhaust Manifold Heat Shields, S Tubes & Related Parts
The Master Parts Catalog has this part listed as Shroud and Tube Assembly Carburetor Air Cleaner Air Duct. The street name is heat shield or exhaust manifold heat shield. Basically works in conjunction with your stock air cleaner snorkel. This allows warm air to be ducted into your air intake system for a smoother idle and faster engine warm ups.
In most all cases the heat shield is painted Ford Engine blue. Must be used with correct cast iron exhaust manifolds for your engine. Attaches with one or two bolts to your exhaust manifold or attaches to a special manifold mounting stud. We at WCCC recommend using a bit of high temperature anti seize on the bolt threads. This will aid in the event you need to remove the mounting nuts.
Condition wise these shields are sold in used condition, meaning that there will most likely be some flash or surface rust and some minor blemishes from rough engine removals and air cleaner installations over the passed 40 years.
