This is a rare find... This used 4 piece bracket set was taken from a June 17th built 1968 390 X code Cougar with factory dual exhaust. These are much cleaner used parts than you will see in other regions as they have never been exposed to road salt. Factory cast iron exhaust manifold set, both a correct right C6OE-9428-A and left C7OE-9431-A side matching exhaust manifolds. With 1969 dates. *TRIVIA* 1969 390 S code Cougars were not technically the 390GT variety. An Autolite 4300 carburetor and a non-GT intake manifold changed the designation to 390IP for "Improved Performance."

C6OE-9428-A 390-4V factory original cast iron exhaust manifold for passenger side. Even though the photo shows a chamfer where an exhaust donut would go, the proper 1967 manifold would have been cast flush, and a butterfly spacer would have been used. The spacer had a flapper that partially blocked the pipe and allow heat to be dissipated upwards to the choke. Spacers not included. Unlike the reproductions of the past, these actually fit without the need for modification or the need to jump on the front of the car to install. This white plastic spacer fits into the back of the right hand inner knob on cars without factory fader or balance. If your inner knob is loose and will not align, you will want to see if this part is in place. Original NOS shroud with correct chocolate brown color and texture as what came on your Cougar the day it was made. The later shrouds sold by Ford were smooth, black and the "Barnum Fibre Co. This shroud was what Ford would have sold you in the later years up until they discontinued them in the late 1990's. It has the original Ford part number just like the original but is made of a different material and is black instead of dark brown.Ford part number C9OZ-8146-A

Great addition to that show quality FE powered early Cougar. Unlike the reproduction this has the original part number, BARNUM BROS. FIBRE CO. INC. lettering and FoMoCo insignia at the top driver side. This was one of the last units out the door when FORD discontinued them in the 1990's. Used original fan shroud for the 24" radiator found on Mustang, Torino and Cougar with AC or for Cougars that need extra cooling capabilities beyond what the 20" radiator / shroud can deliver. D1ZE-8146-AA fan shroud for any 1971-72 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with 351 engines and either air conditioning or extra cooling.

This shroud was discontinued by Ford in the mid 1990's. It really is no different in appearance from our reproduction but it does weigh a hefty 2.56 pounds and the reproduction weighs 1.76 pounds. Must have FoMoCo / part numbered shroud for that show quality BOSS 302 or 351C Eliminator. Just like our reproduction, the BARNUM BROS. lettering has been ground off.
