1968 Mercury Cougar

Used end cap with the burl woodgrain for the deluxe door pull straps found in the Mercury Cougar XR7 or Ford Mustang. These units will show a degree of pitting, fine scratches and fading. Also, these door pull strap caps are unique to 1968 and they are not currently being reproduced. 1967 has no border and the woodgrain has a different color and look to it. This Big Block motor mount bolts to the driver side (left hand) of the engine block. This original plate with the "L 427" stamped into the bracket. Fits 1968 Mercury Cougar GT-E with 'W' code 427 side oiler engine. A regular FE Cougar driver side will work with modification.  Ford part # C8ZZ-6046-C for the left hand bracket

This white plastic spacer fits into the back of the right hand inner knob on cars without factory fader or balance. If your inner knob is loose and will not align, you will want to see if this part is in place. Great addition to that show quality FE powered early Cougar. Unlike the reproduction this has the original part number, BARNUM BROS. FIBRE CO. INC. lettering and FoMoCo insignia at the top driver side. This was one of the last units out the door when FORD discontinued them in the 1990's. This latest of a series of 68 reproduction sheet metal parts is just what the market has been waiting for! The dimensions are EXACT down to the 1/16", black primer finish is very similar to what the later service replacement parts were from Ford. The fender weighs a few pounds more than original due to being made from slightly thicker material than OEM. This assembly is spot welded to the fender skin. Sometimes this area will be damaged in a collision but the skin will still be fine. Due to the rarity of good fenders and the costly shipping you may want to consider repairing your fender as opposed to buying another if this is all you need.

New replacement J-nut or they are sometimes called U-nuts. These clip into those square holes in the fender aprons for fastening the fenders on 1967-70 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs. These clips are 5/8 inches from the hole center to folded edge. We also see the same clips with 27/32 inch spacing for fender mounting. Numerous other uses, we find this clip on the hidden headlight buckets on 1967-68 Cougar and XR7's.

Used OEM Ford 428 Cobra Jet manual transmission flywheel. Stamped C8OE-A. Needs a ring gear, has chipped teeth. No visible issues, no discoloration from heat. Ford 428CJ only, not for 428 SUPER COBRA JET engines. This flywheel on a 428CJ is externally balanced. Should have 184 ring gear teeth.Ford part number C8OE-6380-A.
