C6AZ-6582-G Smooth painted valve cover without “Powered by Ford” embossed in the metal. Correct on 1967 Mercury Cougar and 1966-67 Ford Mustang with 289 engines.
*Restoration Tip - “Powered by Ford” valve covers were not generally used until the 1968 model year. These smooth small block valve covers are correct for 1967 cars. Those wanting to restore or replicated the DGS (Dan Gurney Special) option may want to consider buying two of these valve covers to have chromed. The DGS cars came with the Ford engine dress up package. The engine dress up package included chromed valve covers, chromed air cleaner lid, chromed oil dip stick, and chrome radiator cap.

C6ZZ-6582-H Smooth chromed valve cover without “Powered by Ford” embossed in the metal. Correct on 1967 DGS Mercury Cougar and optional on 1965-67 Ford Mustang with 289 engines. Ford master parts catalog shows a right and left version of this cover those numbers are C6ZZ-6582-H & C6ZZ-6582-J.
*Note – This is a used chrome valve cover. The plating was pretty low quality back in 1966-67 and these will show rust pitting. For best results we recommend the painted version of this valve cover for re-chroming.

C7AZ-6582-A Ford engine blue painted valve cover with “Powered by Ford” embossed in the metal. Correct on 1967-1969 Mercury Cougar with 390 engines. We are pretty sure that these painted valve covers were installed on non-GT cars without the engine dress up kits. Most 6.5 liter cars and the X code 390-2V would have had these painted valve covers. Right is the same as left, these are sold individually.
*Restoration Tip – The difference between the 390GT valve cover and these painted valve covers is only the chrome plating.
