When it's time to replace your old decaying foam seal, go with our reproduction weatherstrip retainer foam roll with peel off adhesive. Goes between the roof and door / window channel. These are not technically manufactured to fit the Cougar / Mustang, however these are very close to the originals and come from the manufacturer in a roll that is 4' X 1" X 1/8". We suggest using white lithium grease or petroleum jelly to ensure the seal will not stick to the shift lever. New black plastic access plug as found on most all 1971-73 Mercury and many other Ford cars starting in 1970. It only comes in black, the color can be changed with the appropriate color of interior paint. This is a near match to the originals that have become chalky over time.
