This assembly is spot welded to the fender skin. Sometimes this area will be damaged in a collision but the skin will still be fine. Due to the rarity of good fenders and the costly shipping you may want to consider repairing your fender as opposed to buying another if this is all you need.

Contrary to what you might think at first glance, the support rods used in 1967 - 1968 Cougar headliners are not the same front to back. Each of the rods is bowed to a different curve. To replace a headliner and make it look right, you must keep the rods in the same order as they came out of the original headliner. This is the factory Ford remote trunk latch as used on luxury cars such as Thunderbird or Lincoln. As you can see from the photo, they are made (and install) exactly like our Cougar trunk latches, but with the addition of a release tab. These can be installed to use either a cable, vacuum, or solenoid release.

Used grade "B" rear courtesy / opera light lens for the Mercury Cougar. Opera lights were came as standard equipment on all XR7 Cougars, but were installed on many decor and standard level Cougar interiors. This is a good used, grade A deck lock housing with nothing included except the studs. There will be no major blemishes or pitting and the cover stop in the bottom corner is intact.
