1971 Mercury Cougar

Good original passenger side door latch rod set. Includes rod for inside lock, outside key lock, and outside door release actuating rod. These are good used parts and are a better quality and value compared to the reproductions. Only fits passenger side doors of 1971-73 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang.

Door Striker bolt assembly complete with PVC bushing. 7/16-14 thread. Silver zinc finish. Replaces Ford part #: D2AZ-6522008-A.

You may consider buying our grade "B" door over our grade "A" door if you are doing a high end restoration. Here is the reasoning; due to the design of the 71-73 door, silt is trapped in all of the door corners, these tight recesses always have silt collected in them and when you add moisture you get corrosion. Our grade "A" doors do not have noticeable blisters but since there is no paint or sound deadener in the depths of the corners we know there is some amount of corrosion taking place...

Grade "A" doors have never been dented in, cracked in the door latch area or rusted in the corners under the weatherstrip. When you turn it over and inspect it, the bottom seam it is not expanding from the inside out due to rust. There are no drilled holes for an after market impact strip and the sound deadener is usually still intact. Often times it will still bear the original paint but do expect multiple, small door dings.
