This is a 1968 only part that is correct for Cougars equipped with the 390 GT "S" code motor. Whether your Cougar has the GT package or not, as long as it has a 4V 390 motor, this is the correct snorkel for your Cougar. The internal dimensions of the opening at the air cleaner base end measure 4 1/8" X 2 3/16", the flange mounting holes measure 5 1/2" on center. The opening for the S tube is 2 3/4". Air cleaner intake assembly or snorkel specific to the one year only 390-2V premium fuel engine, (X code engine). This version has the thermally operated trap door. There was an early version that used vacuum to open the trap door to the heat stove. Ford part number C8WY-9A626-A. *Note - This snorkel has a different spacing on the mounting ears, it will not mount to a 390GT air cleaner base.

The only Cougar that we know came factory equipped with this part is the Cobra Jet. According to the Master Parts Catalog (MPC), any Cougar with a 3.91 or 4.11 rear end and a C-6 would have been equipped with this reducer. Replaces Ford Part #: C8ZZ-17294-A.

Spindle nut kit for the 67 - 69 Cougar or Mustang. This 3/4-16 threaded nut fits most of the 1967-69 brake spindles. The exception would be some of the Boss 302 and some 428CJ equipped cars. Included are nut, cap, washer and cotter pin.

Used steering wheel tension spring used in the tilt / tilt away steering column found in the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. One required per car. Keeps tension on the steering wheel shaft so as to keep the steering wheel from contacting the upper column cover.
