1968 Mercury Cougar

This is a restored 1968 steering wheel that is correct for all but the later production, standard interior equipped 1968 Cougars. Only the XR7 & XR7G received the woodgrain center section, the decor and standard interior equipped Cougars received a color coded to the wheel vinyl insert. B grade pad has shrunk to the point that the center section will not fit well and you may have to file some of the plastic away for a proper fit, it will be curling a little at the top where it meets the wheel and overall will be rather hard from UV exposure. Additionally, it may show some signs of wear to the texture of the graining. If you state your preference in the comments section we will try to accommodate you on color.

This single port version was used in the latter part of 1967 and all of 1968. Keep in mind we have units that are not as clean looking but still hold vacuum for about half the price. Cougar part number C7WY-13A185-C headlamp vacuum reservoir.

New strip caulk for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. These units come in one foot strips and are used for sealing the front fenders to top of aprons and for sealing the fuel tank flange to the trunk floor. They are also used for sealing the floor drain plugs, gas filler necks, door panel water shields, plus many other components that are fastened to the body. This box contains 60 individual strips of black non-hardening caulk.

Our grade "B" rods are just as straight as our grade "A" used rods but the will show pock marks from rust after you clean them. One can fill and sand but it will take time. These are still a much better value than the Chinese rods we sell. This listing is for the driver side only. This is the 1968 Cougar visor bracket. Not an exact match for 1971 - 1973, but will work. The hole spacing and distance from the windshield is identical to that on the 71-73, the bracket is just 1/8" longer on the side that actually holds the visor tip. Used strap or support bracket for the foam air conditioning vent tube going to the driver side A/C vent. The electrical assembly manual indicates that this strap bracket behind the dash on the driver side. Our findings from the wrecking yard show that 1967 is typically rubber coated, 1968 is bare steel.
