This area of the door often cracks due to the stress caused by worn out hinges. This is a replacement relay for the discontinued original FoMoCo relays.  It does not appear in the same form factor, but will work just fine. Used cigar or cigarette lighter threaded retainer with ground lug. Fits any 1969 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with factory installed console. The ground lug is needed for the heating element in the socket. The consoles are made of plastic and use the common socket designed for steel dashes. This retainer is part of C9MB-15055-A socket and retainer assembly.

Retainer or keeper for door hinge pins on all 1968-73 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang, plus most all other Ford products with a typical door hinge pin. The factory installed the hinges with the pins driven in from the bottom as viewed with the doors installed. Most restorations install the pins from the top so that gravity holds them in.
