Chrome air cleaner lid removed from a Q code, 351-4V or 351CJ 1972 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang, likely Torino and Mercury mid sized cars too. Ford / Mercury have had various part numbers listed for this basic lid over the years. The primary difference was the original lids included an engine size sticker. That is why there are so many listings, the basic part number is 9661. Chrome will be used, and will have some defects to the plating.

This lid is about 16-3/4 inch in diameter. Identified by the spokes in the stamping. 1967 and 1969 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with S code 390-4V engines. Additionally this lid was used on 1969-70 Q code 428CJ or non-ram air Cougars and Mustangs. We believe that this lid was also found on Boss 302 Eliminators. Reproduction locking pawl for the 1970 - 1979 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang that is equipped with a factory tilt steering column. This unit works in conjunction with a pin and is responsible for locking the tilt column in place. In many cases, the pin tends to move out of place and break or chip the teeth of the locking pawl. This is a the economy version of our lower control arm assembly, with a spot welded on reinforcing plate. We are sorry, but we just cannot recommend this part. The Scott Drake premium version of this lower control arm is superior and costs less.
