This driver side moulding is correct for convertible. On convertibles the top portion is trimmed to allow it to slide under the sun visor bracket. The engineering number imprinted on the back is D1ZB-6503599 for 1971-1972 and D3ZB-6503599 for 1973. Convertibles show the same casting numbers on the part, but are a modified before assembly. Good set of four diecast original top mouldings for both two tone paint Cougar hardtops and 1970 Cougars with a factory installed Hounds-Tooth checkered vinyl top. No broken studs, cracks, bends or chips. Originally these came painted on most cars, but in rare cases like the 1970 Hounds-tooth edition or select two tone paint cars, they came chrome plated. Factory spare tire hold down bolt for 1969-70 Mercury Cougar convertibles with style steel wheels. Note the felt and jack placement. Overall length 12-1/4 inches. As always, the threads are 1/2"-13.
